Description
In the afternoon, around 2pm/15pm, I noticed a tightness on the left side of my upper lip, quite close to the corner of my mouth. As I also had a torn corner of my mouth at the time, I initially blamed it on this and didn't pay any further attention to it.
However, the tightness increased and there was also a slight itching, a familiar feeling, which is why I looked in the mirror in anticipation. I could see one or two herpes blisters just above the corner of my mouth.
I thought about what it could be and went through the day and the evening before. Normally, I know it from situations like discovering the lip print of the person in front of you or other dirt on the glass in a restaurant while you're already drinking from it. But I was at home and couldn't remember anything else that was disgusting or unpleasant.
But then I remembered another situation from the previous evening:
When I wanted to hug my husband and give him a kiss, I reflexively jerked back during the kiss because one of his stubbles had pricked me properly. My husband likes to wear a 3-day beard, which doesn't bother me at all, but this time it was a 5/6-day beard and I said to him at that moment: “You've got quite a bristle today”. As it's not usually like this, it was completely unexpected and I wanted to be separated from the spiky stubble at that moment.
The spot where the herpes appeared was also pretty much exactly where the beard hair had pricked me. As it was only a brief moment and the mass of conflict was not great, it fortunately stayed with the herpes blister and didn't blossom with several blisters as has sometimes happened in the past with nasty things.
